It seems as though we are reporting this much too often.

This time an 11-year old Callahan girl, Kelly Martinez, was crossing two-lane Lem Turned Road south of Church Road. It was about 7 a.m. and the girl was going to her school bus stop when she was hit by a Jeep Cherokee. Linda Brabham, 50, also of Callahan didn't see the girl and police do not believe she was driving improperly.

Martinez died at the scene.

We continue to warn about school busses and how you must obey their stop signs and stop when they do. Now we'll warn about approaching a school bus stop, especially from 7 to 9 a.m. when kids go to school and between 2 and 4 in the afternoon when they return. Keep your eyes open. It only takes a second for a life to be lost.

No word yet on whether charges will be filed.
