6 Die in Crashes During Bike Week

It is supposed to be a fun-fest for lovers of motorcycles, but so far six motorcyclists have died on Florida's roads during the festivities in Daytona Beach.
The latest occured when two motorcyclists died in a head-on crash. 31-year old Brian Charles Greene was in the westbound lane driving east passing a line of cars when he collided with 46-year old Charles Bigbee. Both men were from Deltona and both men were wearing helmets.
Last Monday night another motorcyclists died when he lost control of his motorcycle while travelling at high speeds according to the FHP. The Midland, Michigan man was not wearing a helmet.

A Gulf Coast couple returning from Daytona died last Sunday on I-4.

The St. Petersburg couple were on a large motorcycle Sunday heading west on Interstate 4 when its rear tire separated as they crossed the bridge between Volusia and Seminole counties, Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Kim Miller said.

The 45-year old man and 39-year old woman were not wearing helmets.

Then last Saturday a St. Augustine man who was weaving around traffic around 5:15pm died when his motorcycle slipped under a van. He was not wearing a helmet.

Activities surrounding Bike Week are putting all of us on the road in danger. This year it ends March 11th.
