Eddie FarahSeptember 17, 2007 12:16 PMYour driveway is probably the last place you might feel you're in danger from a carjacker.
But that's what happened to Jaime Hile early Friday morning. Getting out of her car in her Jacksonville neighborhood, a man dressed in black and armed with a gun approached the driver's side.
Get out of the car he demanded. Mrs. Hile was feisty enough to refuse. But when the gunman asked, "Have you ever been shot?," and started counting backwards from 10, she had second thoughts.
At the number two, the gun went off shooting her in the foot.
The bullet went through the shoe and hit her in the bone and that's when Mrs. Hile pushed the carjacker away, slammed the car door and called 911. The suspect ran.
And she is not even angry.
"
I have to forgive him. Most people may not understand that. Christian people will understand that," says Hile
.
First Coast News has video
of Mrs. Hile talking about the ordeal.
The man is still on the loose. If you have any information on the crime, call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
