The division that licenses truckers , the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, says you cannot use the drug Chantix to help kick the habit. The same applies to airline pilots and air traffic controllers, per the Federal Aviation Administration.

The agency has barred flight personnel from using Chantix after a study by the Institute for Safe Medication Practicesfound the drug can cause anger, aggression, agitation and in some cases, suicidal behavior.

The study found 988 cases of Chantix causing serious health problems, including seizures and heart trouble, and dizziness that caused more than 100 accidents.

Pfizer says more than five million Americans take Chantix and the side effects are in line with what might be expected, besides, kicking nicotine can have some strange affects on quitters as well.

The problem is Chantix is a pretty effective drug to stop smoking. But are the risks outweighing the benefits? Increasingly people are saying NO and the FDA is seriously reviewing the adverse event reports to see if it agrees.
