Dora Krone was either 91 or 101 depending on whom you listen to.

But her friends say she liked to be active and frequently walked for exercise, even though she used a walker.

Dora was doing just that Wednesday about 5 p.m. when she was hit be a car at the intersection of North Main and Sycamore Street.

The driver was an 84-year old women, Lois Ponsel, who law enforcement says was not speeding.

Witnesses saw what happened.

We heard a boom. When I looked, she was in the air," one witness said. "There was no scream, just a clap. Her walker went this way. Her shoes and bag were back that way."

Krone was hit by a 1998 Chevrolet Lumina and was taken to Shands-Jacksonville but died.

Krone's family says she's 91, police say she was 101 years old.

No charges are expected to be filed in this case.
