It's happened again. Proving again that children and SUVs are a dangerous combination.

A woman driving to work near Savannah pulled her Isuzu Ascension out of the driveway when her 20-month old daughter, Kyla Grimes ran out of the house and toward the car.

39-year old Kim Smith says she felt a bump. After pulling out of the driveway she saw the little girl in her rear-view mirror. She had driven over her.

The Savannah-Chatham district attorney will consider charges after officers finish investigating.

However, Sgt. Mike Wilson, a police spokesman, said the toddler's death appeared to be "a tragic, bizarre accident."

The toddler was supposed to be saying at home with her father after her mother came home during the lunch hour.

The baby was pronounced dead after being rushed to Memorial Health University Medican Center.

We too often are reporting on these types of unfortunate accidents. Drivers simply do not have visibility in SUVs and unfortunately often children are in the vicinity. If in doubt, don't pull out without stopping and looking.
