A seven-vehicle crash left traffic at a stand still on I-95 between the J. Turner Butler Boulevard and Bowden Road exits, in Jacksonville, Florida today

According to the Florida Highway Patrol,

the driver of a pickup truck towing a trailer in the center lane heading northbound on I-95 lost control of his vehicle and collided with a semi in the right hand lane. This started a chain resulting in two tractor-trailers and five vehicles pile up.

The multiple vehicle accident virtually closed I-95 north and had traffic tied up for hours. Traffic heading south was also affected as lanes were shut down to allow tow trucks to get to the wrecked vehicles. Fortunately only on person was injured. Rain and slick roads added to the mess.

All I-95 lanes north and south were finally opened at 5:00 p.m.
