On Thursday, December 7, 2006, Gene Rowe, age 65 ran into the rear of a car driven by Mary Wilson who had stopped only moments before because of an earlier accident. The accident occurred on County Road 125, Glen St. Mary, Florida.

Edward Force, 21, has hit a deer and tied the animal to the hood of his vehicle. At 6:00 a.m. he crashed into a Baker County Sheriff's Office vehicle.

Gene Rowe was severely injured and later died. Ms. Cox only suffered minor injuries. Mr. Force was transported to Shands Hospital by helicopter and is listed in fair condition. The Deputy, Charles Deloach suffered minor injuries.
