Police Say Cyclist Caused Tractor-Trailer Crash

You see them all the time on the road--cyclists who sometimes follow the rules of the road--sometimes do not.

Something went terribly wrong Wednesday evening when 18-year-old Ronald Dale of Waycross, Georgia failed to stop at a sign and that began a chain of events resulting in the death of a female motorist.

33-year old Sarah Elaine Cribb Poss was just trying to avoid Dale. She did, but lost her life in the process.

This all happened just west of U.S. 82 near Waycross.

Poss was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus. When Dale didn't stop and pulled in front of her, she swerved to avoid him. Unfortunately Poss swerved right into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer heading east on U.S. 82. He essentially drove right over her car killing Poss instantly.

The truck driver and 18-year old Dale walked away from the scene uninjured.

But Dale is not getting a walk from the D.A's office. They've charged him with causing the crash that lead to a homicide--that is a second degree vehicular homicide charge. Dale could spend up to a year in jail.
