Eddie FarahFebruary 13, 2008 10:02 PMFor the next several months, nothing will be the same on the 9A project that's underway.
This $831 million project will be great when it's completed this fall, all part of the I-295 beltway around the city, but until then you might want to take notes, or at least check a variety of web sites if you are going to travel east or west on or off 9A anytime soon.
The only things constant here will be change.
As it stands now- there is no entry on J. Turner Butler (JTB) west from 9A. And soon a light at JTB and 9A will be removed. Beginning today, 9A going south onto Gate will be closed for one month. You'll have to go to Baymeadows and turn around.
And an additional lane is being added on JTB between San Pablo and Kernan.
The good news is that this beautification is 88 percent finished.
Check www.Jacksonville.com as well as the web site www.SR9A.info for daily updates.
The bad news- all of this will be completed about the time we decide that more people are moving here and we need to expand the roads again.
This video on Jacksonville.com explains more.
