In August of 2005, Ashleigh Eminisor was struck by a Jacksonville Transient Authority Trolley while crossing the one of the main streets in Jacksonville, Florida. At the time of the accident she was taking her friend a two-month old baby to visit her mother

The trolley operated by JTA ignored a red light and ran over her leg, crushing the main bone.

The driver was the charged with careless driving and violation of traffic control devices. Fortunately she was able to keep the child out of harm.

Since this incident, Ms. Eminisor has undergone eight surgeries and now must use a wheelchair or a walker to get around. She has lost her job and must rely of family to help. She has filed a lawsuit against JTA.
