You may have seen them on the road. A teenager with their drivers license less than one year, speeding past, jamming their brakes on when someone doesn’t get out of their way, trying to drive around them and not being able to make it, jamming their brakes on again. I’ve actually said out loud – if that was my kid – I just would want to know so the proper consequences could be delivered. Or should I say, taken away.

Parents take heart. Technology has heard your concerns and has responded. A GPS tracking system will tell you exactly what your child is doing behind the wheel of your car.

A number of these items are able to monitor speed. Location, time, where they went, and how long they stayed. Fitting inside your car discretely, the GPS device works by receiving signals from 24 satellites orbiting the earth. Every second you get a reading and are able to access the tracking data.

Here are some available – GPS Teen Tracking - $229 - more information on their Web site.

Trying to keep track of drivers on trucking fleets companies have had to rely on real time tracking devices. Now you can get one to monitor your teen’s speed and location. LandAirSea will sell you one for $600. Learn more about it on their Web site.

The number one cause of death for teens are automobile accidents. Almost four thousand teens are killed every year in traffic accidents and hundreds of thousands of teens are injured, some critically and permanently. Add other teen passengers, traveling at night, and distractions such as cell phones, CDs, texting AND the youth and inexperience of the driver, one of these devices might just deliver a little piece of mind. #

I recently found a company, BLUEWATER SECURITY PROFESSIONALS More ... , offering parents FREE HARDWARE RENTAL of a Live GPS Tracking System. (you just have to pay the monthly monitoring service) but it save you the expense of buying the hardware for $600.00 and you only use the system as long as you need to and then return the system for a full 100% refund on your hardware deposit. As teens get their drivers license, the best way to prevent bad driving habits is to stop those habits before they start. As soon as my teen started driving, I was able to monitor her driving habits and was able to talk with her about speeding as soon as it occurred. I watched her for 3 weeks and talked to her about her speeding and places she was going where she wasn’t suppose to go. After the 3 weeks I noticed that her driving inproved 100% and she was only going where she told us she was going. I also had the peace of mind knowing that if anything happened to her I knew where she was 24 hours a day.
