Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Lucas was just doing his job.

He was travelling west on Wildwood Drive in St Johns County. He had his lights and siren on.

Suddenly a car travelling southbound on A!A struck the cruiser.

Altogether three people were injured, luckily none seriously.

The car that hit the cruiser was driven by 80-year-old David Fox of Palm Coast.

According to a reconstruction of the scene, Fox didn't see the FHP vehicle and drove into the intersection. When the front of Fox's Toyota hit the passenger side of the Crown Vic, both vehicles did a 360 spinning around. They hit each other again before stopping in the road's shoulder.

Lucas, Fox and Fox's passenger Harriet Volin, 78, were all taken to Flagler Hospital with minor injuries. It is possible Fox could be charged after an investigation is completed.
