She was just 21- years old.

Stacie Long was reportedly driving west on Park Street in Jacksonville just after 2 a.m. early Wednesday morning, June 27th. Police say there was a flashing red light, indicating she should stop.

Unfortunately she didn't.

Long collided with a big rig carrying cars that was traveling south on Cassat Avenue. Police aren't sure whether the driver even slowed down for his flashing yellow light.

The collision between the Toyota and the big-rig ended in the Nimnicht Chevrolet car dealership, damaging eight new cars. Channel 4 had video of the collision on their website.

Long was taken to Shands hospital and was soon put on life support. She lived until the next afternoon when she expired from her injuries. The driver of the big-rig was not injured.

Such a waste of a young life. So important to stay alert and drive defensively, even when it's 2 a.m. and you don't think any other traffic is around.
