That what Archibal Coaile says about his wife of 30 years, Rosario, who died after doctors at the hospital failed to recognize and treat a brain aneurysm, which he alleges killed her in December, 2005.
In announcing a $17 million lawsuit, Coaile said his 58-year old wife should be alive today and would be if emergency room doctors had properly evaluated her.
Instead she was given pain medication for her headaches and told to go home. Days later she died, he says.
They said the first physician never compared her CT scans, which they said show a major change, and that when another doctor did notice the change there was no sense of urgency.
The suit blames a breadown in a sense of urgency over her medical emergency.
In a statement in response the Navy hospital says while it is sorry for the family's loss, it has confidence in the care delivered by the hospital.
The hospital is facing several other lawsuits--one over a baby's death another for $150 million over an alleged botch delivery of a baby who is now disabled.
